CWI started as a “what if” idea around the Ishmael family dining table in 2008. A longtime telecommunications engineer, Chris Ishmael had never worked in the transit industry, but he recognized the need for fleet vehicle and passenger security, particularly when it came to rural transit systems that often are overlooked by large fleet security companies.

Putting his technology and networking background to work, Chris created a fleet security offering and began contacting rural public transit systems in the North Texas area. His pitch: We’ll give you the best service you’ve ever had. Shortly after that, the company officially signed its first customer in Sherman, TX.

Today, we've grown to serve nearly 200 agencies and businesses across the United States, installing systems in trains, ambulances, police cruisers, fire engines, snowplows, school buses and transit vehicles of all types. But we still retain our original passion for working with smaller transit systems and do our best to live out our original promise of "the best service you've ever had."

Through our mobile digital video recording and connectivity products, services and training, we have helped nearly 200 transport organizations and public transit systems better manage their fleets, increase rider safety, and enhance route and vehicle productivity. Whether the data is obtained via an Ethernet connection, USB port, or a wireless connection, we provide our customers with the valuable data they need to enhance fleet management operations.

We continually monitor our customers’ technological needs to ensure the right products, services and partnerships are in place, and work with a full staff of US-based hardware and software engineers to provide long-term product, support, and consulting.

From implementing basic camera recording solutions or configuring and installing complex systems that include wireless networks and IP radio systems, video file offloading to providing live tracking and streaming for real-time fleet management, we do our best to live up to our motto every day: “Risk migration, instant communication, always there.”
